Movie list missing items

Howcome I never get email about site announcements? Occasions like this call for it. If you make these on instances of site updates maybe people will be reminded of their Listal accounts and come back to become addicts.

I agree I should send more announcements but not for this kind of thing.

Is there a way of editing the date added if I re-add lost items from the past three weeks? I like to see them in order...

Luckily for me I didn't add much in the past three weeks, but my spotty memory doesn't help me remember what I added in that time frame. Well, atleast the fixes I and others implemented in the books section didn't go down the drain.

Google Reader has 553 of my items (versus the 449 left in Listal). Is there a way to export a feed from Google Reader into Listal?

Same here Neithan, I went from 300 something back down to 100 in every single one of my lists ^^' but I am getting them back, I almost got all 2000(or more) points back from them,

yes! my backup pretty much saved my ass :-) The new import function (thanks again Tom!) works nicely. However the export/import does not save ratings for actors or directors... Also, I think it would be nice with an "export all" function, insted of heaving to save 6 different files each time...

Phew, good thing I decided not to do any of this whatsoever. I might do so soon though, so is it completely fixed? Because I don't really want this to happen to me at all.

if you backup your account after rating a ton of items, you could retrieve it if this happens again. but since this is the first time i've seen this happen, i think it's a one-time 'crash'.

remember: in IT there's nothing like an "one-time" crash ;). so better be safe than sorry. thanks by the way for the import-feature, tom!

When importing, do you have to weed out the items that are already there to avoid duplication or will it merge together?

two questions, one I mainly do gaming and searching on a computer, how do you make backups of a site list?

when importing data (be it from xml, dvdprofiler or delicious), will it be merged with existing data or overwritten (tags, ratings etc.)?

The google feed seems to be in a different format to the listal rss so it won't import.

It will update if the item already exists (update the rating/dateadded from the feed) if it doesn't exist it will add a new entry.
