Message Spam Collection Thread (2)

I've given up reporting them. Obviously, the "new" website code has all the security of a piece of Swiss cheese and no one plans on tightening it up. SO long as my computer or sensitive data aren't compromised, I just ignore them.

Something IS being done about it. We prevent them from accessing the site.
And by the way, Tom DOES delete the accounts eventually. So please keep reporting!

I quit working at shoprite and now I make $35h - $80h...how? I'm working online! My work didn't exactly make me happy so I decided to take a chance on something new… after 4 years it was so hard to quit my day job but now I couldn't be happier. Heres what I do,

Reporting them so Tom can delete the account is OK, but this didn't flare up until he released Listal 2.0. Try tightening up the code security and it'll make it harder to spam in the first place.

I think it might be time to ban some IP addresses. This message spam is getting way out of hand.

I'm getting about 5-6 lists spammed per hour since yesterday,...

Blocking IP addresses can be problematic, and is probably the wrong way to go. As much as I hate things like Captcha, I think it needs to be implemented for new accounts... not just based on age of account, but also on account points... which would hopefully stop accounts lying dormant until the timer expired.

The internal server errors need to be fixed first though... as number one priority, no point adding new things if the site can't cope with what's already there.

Reporting and removing these is all well and good, but unless a preventative solution is implemented, this is really getting nobody anywhere. The accounts are just remade and it keeps happening. Surely it is better for everyone if something proper is done to limit this kind of thing. This is the simplistic and clearly ineffective way of doing things.

All I can see is people being driven up the wall by something that really should have been dealt with by now. Surely this is pretty much punishing people for being on the front page, I was hit by one account five times the other day, ridiculous!
