Managing Pictures for Lists

Toa 14 years, 4 months ago at Feb 9 17:52 -
Hi. I’ve just recently joined and I’m creating my first list. The images I want to upload for this list aren’t necessarily appropriate for any particular category, e.g. actor/actresses, movies, etc. Also, I don’t want to upload them to my Profile section because it’ll get quite full and cluttered quickly. As an inexperienced user, I’m loathe to use an image hosting site either. Are they the only options, i.e., in an existing Listal category; Profile pictures; or off-site?

I'm curious, as an example, as to how the images have been handled in the following case.

www.listal.com/list/m-p-t-t-t
“If Movie Posters Told The Truth", by CHANi.

Where is www.listal.com/viewimage/1189402 stored?

Just out of curiosity I tried to figure out where this image was being stored, but it wasn’t in the movie category (which wouldn’t have been appropriate anyway), or the member’s profile pictures. Is this an example of an image inserted from another site?

I’ve noticed other similar ones, like a list of movie star caricatures, which you wouldn’t want to upload to existing categories, or cluttering up profile pics section.

It's a neat trick. See here for uploading pictures from other sites straight to notes. It's the second code ("img src=").

Once you click "Save" after editing a note, it'll turn the code into a Listal image link (the first one on the list, that goes "[img id="), the size of which can be edited by changing the "500full" to a lower number.

After you upload it, the image will be attached to nothing but the list you uploaded it for or whatever future lists you plan on creating. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks, that does makes sense. Knowing the "image will be attached to nothing . . ." does ease my mind!

I know what you mean. It did the same for me a few months back when I started taking advantage of the feature.
