Hi,
I'm one of the many people upset by the recent events at GoodReads trying to seek an alternative. Is there someway to import my book reviews from there? I have them in a .csv file already. With over 1200 books added and around 800 reviewed and rated I obviously don't want to do all of that manually!

There are a few options for importing ratings but not really ones for GoodReads
www.listal.com/user/import
The closest that Listal has to file import supporting is a library in xml.
@ To Other Listal Members
Anyone know of a good way to convert csv to xml or had any luck with importing from Goodreads?

Sorry, I moved this to "Off Topic," not realizing this actually had something to do with Listal.
Will move it back.

Thanks for your help guys, I'll look into these alternatives.
Jaytoast - yes, there are quite a number of people there dismayed by the sellout and the way it was handled. There are already a number of websites and internet groups of people discussing which ship to jump to.

I've had a look and Excel can save .csv files as .xml files but obviously the headings don't match any of those supported by the options on Listal at the moment so when I try to import it just says '0 items added'.

A quick update - I've messaged Tom and he's looking into it.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Good to know.
Yep, I some how vaguely remember trying converting a file to .xml and having the same problem with importing the file to Listal. Ha, just can't remember what site it was for... I was on quite a few before landing on Listal.
Good luck and I hope has a nice quick way of fixing the issue or just allowing .csv files.
