Mate, I'm all for the mass execution of all multiple accounts. Did you know some kid about 2 months ago signed up under four new accounts and voted for all of his own pictures and favourite lists. He thought we was thick enough not to realise when he said "Wow, these new members are cool. I just got heaps of votes from them and I don't even know who they are ^^" Guess how well developed their profiles were....NOT AT ALL!

Whats the point of the voting if people like that abuse it?

Tom seems to want more members but at the cost of quality.
DefenderOfKnowledge 17 years ago at Apr 22 21:16 -
The worst part about changing names is that Narutards change their avatar and their entire profile every freakin second, so unless you keep a detailed list of of what usernames link to what posts, and try to keep up with all the twelve year olds.

Why the heck do people delete their accounts anyway? Whenever I leave a site, I keep my username active, in case I ever want to come back.

Don't you know how to make a dramatic exit? First you have to tell everyone, not just your friends that you are leaving. You have some excuse like your having trouble in real life or 'this site is boring.' Then you can see how much you will be missed by all the 'don't leave' replies.

A day later, you'll sign up again under another usename. Kon aka Ichago left for a 24 period before he made his new account.

Multiple Accounts should not be allowed  and if you announce you are gonna leave. Please do.

so true, bro. so true. Pretty much everyone who leaves dramatically and deletes themselves came back as an new account, and usually cried "ah I'll miss him so much" (referring to their old account). Attention Whores, that's all they are. SJB left a good half dozen times, and I'd bet my left nut he's hiding somewhere right now.

I dont have a big problem with multiple accounts (actually comes in handy to keep a track of separate collections - I made an account for my dad and keep his collection on here, hoping he'll start using it, but so far I update it for him ever once a while). Its when they make separate accounts to 'hide' from people, to play tricks on others, or to cause shit with their alter egos, thats where I draw the line.

What about when they start voting for their stuff that they put up!?! That is the main reason I'm against it. It defies the point of a single vote for something and it totally wanks all over it if you vote for it urself!

SJB is like Peter Griffin, when he thinks he is invisible and all he is doing is holding a plank of wood in front of his face. Mastermind!

Some places recognize e-mail addresses in conjunction with signing up. Trying to make a new account under a new name gives you An account has already been made under that e-mail address.

A private thing. What a heap of shit. You do nothing on this website nao. If its PMs you are talking about. DOWNLOAD MSN/YAHOO MESSENGER or USE YOUR WINDOWS MESSENGER!

Just because you don't classify yourself as a "narutard" doesn't mean the rules of staying on topic don't apply to you.

You guys wanted mods to keep things clean around here and enforce those rules, then at least help out by obeying them yourselves.

As far as the name changes go... I'm sort of in the "No one should be allowed to change them" camp. Only because it would make things so much easier on everyone.

We all know what I am Voxy.

nao is a multiple offender of the Display name/Username changing malark. I'd rather not PM a 13 year old when I'm in no position of official authority, so venting out here is the best I can do. He admitted to do the cliche'd and annoying delete his account and then start a new one a day apart. He wasn't under any immediate distress on here, he just did it to get his mates to give him attention. If someone says they are going to leave, they bloody well should!

I guess we are both Locke Factioneers then.

Fingers crossed, the principle abusers of the name changing will all be gone soon if the exodus is anything to go by. After that, none of the principle contributors to this site ever change their name and to be honest, nobody without a collection or reputation on the site is worth following, so it should become a non-issue.

Change your avatar if you fancy a switch!

While I feel the same way, I should point out that people that contribute to the extend of GA or TA, I do give them a fair bit of leeway when they go off-topic. I guess it's an added 'perk' for being a good contributer to Listal.

That said, with RC finally being closed down and majority of boards quiet as the exodus is on its way, it would help not to break out into the same old flame wars with them. They may have served a purpose in the past, but now it just keeps giving undue attention to the wrong threads. Everyone that is happy to see the narutards leaving, please help out by contributing to all other threads in full swing. Let's revive 'Groups' and invite new users from joining into good discussions.

Mate, as much as I appreciate the leeway. It was all for the cause. I don't intend to be a Flamatron forever, just until this current spell has resolved. The end is nigh. Maybe I'll no longer be an antagonist when its all sorted.

So give me chance to change my name before this becomes official!!1111

Do we know if its going to be via Mod Approval or so many changes in a month(s) period?

I have no idea if there's any plans to even change this. Tom never commented on username changes.

I myself like the option to change it (not many, if any, sites out there allow this) but perhaps if it was limited to once a month or even once every 3 months, it might be better. Or maybe keep the way it is, but make it visible on person's profile page a history of every name change they've done. I'd hate to change this rule just because the narutards abuse it, and when they're all gone, we'll be missing the option to change it.

many sites that i know only make user changes directly in their databases per request to an admin, so you are not allowed to change it yourself. i think this would make most sense, as this option would only see use in "emergency" cases...

I was thinking the groups have been too quiet for too long, but I forgot I've got Ilsa up in the watchtower :)

thanks for making my life so much easier. hehe

in meantime, when in doubt, block them. They can change their names 80 times a day, but they can't change the 'block'. :P

GemLil 17 years ago at May 1 22:23 -
Haha, I'll save some for you, I wont deny there is a pleasure in the block.

In 3 hours we had 2 sex threads, about 4 dead , pointless revivals and countless acts of LOL!! I tag you brudda; Isla's off for a bath.

I don't know if I'd go for this, though I agree the boards need their bi-weekly cleaning. Some people obsessive about what they want to call themselves will change their usernames 10 times within the course of a couple minutes and then leave it like that for a while, which doesn't end up confusing anyone because they notice one name swap and no more. The only type of user that really abuses name changing is the MySpace crowd, those being a direct synonym to the word agitation.

I don't think Listal wants to be hand-in-hand with MySpace though. The most outspoken members here detest that place so why should they put up with that kind of comparison.

I still think there should be a limit to the changes though. 2 changes per 3 months is reasonable. I mean majority of people here enjoy the organisation and neatness of their own collections (and the site in general!) so why should they suffer some emotional slob.

Who really cared what doing word Ina/Ana were on that particular? Granted we have seen the back of them but we still have remnants (Ghosts of Sparta/Kranos/Megatron/Optimus Prime/Iron Man) who just wind me up.

I will add it in eventually, 1 change and then you have to wait 30 days seems reasonable to me.
