The last one even uses the exact same pictures!!! NB He started changing his images after I posted this. I am so pissed I could break a neck. Sure he's adding some bits here and there, but they are identical in essentials. If I feel I have something to add to a list thats already made, I comment on them, telling them what could be added...this is a bit too much.

16 years, 3 months ago at Jan 20 19:54 - chill GemLil. i wouldn't say that's copying, but that he was inspired by your list. well, i mean with lists getting so popular lately, you can't really expect that there won't be eventually multiple lists for one topic. i once started my own IMDB top 250 list, because i wanted to have it for me (in the time when lists weren't all public and promoted, and weren't able to be edited by more than one person), well aware that there are some IMDB lists already floating around.
personally i'm not really into list creation, but sometimes i see a list on an interesting topic badly executed, so i think "damn, that would make a good list and i could make a better one". i comment on lists too sometimes, suggesting this or that, but basically you are at the whim of the list creator, he may or (more often that not) may not add your suggestion to his list. so what's so wrong with your own - potentially better - list?
regarding the images: i think he just made a link to a Listal picture. it's not really exclusive or reserved by anyone, so i see no wrong done here either.

If this person is a copycat then they are absolutely pathetic and need to get a grip on their life and sort themselves out!! They could be doing so much more than sitting on listal duplicating things that serve little purpose in the first place. If Lil had invented the steam engine and they copied it I'd understand why because its clever and money making, but a dr who list?!?!?!
I am more inclined to think that nobody could be that down right pathetic and loserish and perhaps they just don't read "similar lists" down the side when they create their ideas.

Your Dr. Who list mentions brief details, like the era and number of appearances, while theirs gives an evaluation of each doctor and a comprehensive list of companions. The Disney list is a bit more similar, but again, has more written detail, focuses on the actreses voicing/playing the role, and even lists some things (like Rapunzel) that aren't on yours. Could be that this person liked your lists, but maybe found them lacking in some way, and decided to branch off and do their own.

16 years, 3 months ago at Jan 20 20:25 - I always thought listal was for people to make whatever list they wanted to, regardless of who else had done it before. Assuming the personalised information put into the original one isn't copied word for word, I don't see anything wrong with it. Surely it's up to the voting system to decide whose is 'better'.
I think the only time a copied list would be wrong is if it's a community project that people are trying to set up that's already been done.

It was generally well-done, but missing some things, so I suggested at least a half-dozen additions and gave it a vote. The maker of the list mentioned that they didn't want to delve into animated or foreign stuff. As a result, I was somewhat tempted to write my own that did include all of that and would be more organized to my liking. I didn't, because I didn't feel like making that list, but I think it would've been perfectly fair and acceptable to have done so.

I did find yours by searching 'Disney' in the list search, I'm sure if you'd done the same you would have found mine.

16 years, 3 months ago at Jan 20 20:57 - i absolutely agree with Grand Assault. as long as the content isn't copied word for word (and there are more than enough "top listers" who copy list content from magazines or other sources word for word) i don't see any harm in it. also, it's just useless points we are talking about (in case the "copycat" would earn more votes, which - in my opinion - would prove to some degree that he indeed made the better list). or is it the glory?

The Doctor list had the same entries as mine and the Disney one had the same pictures, they were too similar...if it had different items or was a matter of opinion then I wouldn't complain. For example I made a worst band names and GA made one, different items in as it was his opinion. There is no opinion in listing the Doctors, it is merely a matter of saying who they were..it's a little to close for comfort is all.
My real beef is how he made TWO dupes of my lists in such a short amount of time.
