Contacts and Borrow Request

Putting together the suggestions for the "loaned" tag and the contacts/friends relationships, would there be room to take this one step further? I would love to use this as my own personal lending library between myself, friends and family. I could browse their collection, and, with appropriate permissions, request that I borrow a dvd/cd/game from them. If they accept, the item then has a "Loaned to Rick" in their inventory, and I have a "Borrowed from Jane" in my inventory.

I was thinking about this kind of thing as well, this would be a good addition.

I completely agree. I swap DVDs and CDs with my friends all the time. That would be excellent.

This sounds good and I'd love to be able to do this with friends and family. On a slightly less expansive note I don't know if it has also been mentioned in the forums but one things I'd really like is for a borrowed collection with the item had been borrowed by someone within Listal or without (e.g. a library - although I suppose a library could be set up as a contact). Basically I don't currently know what to do with books I've borrowed from the library and read, so I want to be able to record that, and rate/review etc. but these don't really fit in either the owned, or wanted collection. Is there a way of achieving this at the moment, do you have any plans in this area?
Also just want to echo the general well dones. This is a lovely app in both both concept and design

YES! I think this idea (and this one: www.listal.com/groups/viewthread/269/) is great. Can we please have a Borrow button?
Or, at the very least, a button that would initiate a new message to the friend, since the message system seems to work well enough.
Could even start with generic text:
"Hey, I'd like to borrow [insert item name]!"
with an auto-generated unique link inside that the friend could click to authorize it.
