Typing in bold doesn't make your point any more important than anyone else's.
Perhaps this is something that should be reserved for admin/mods, so as to highlight their posts.

I can see both sides of this though, on one hand I see why it might be better not to allow unlimited uploads for a profile that perhaps only needs one image, and in the case of serial killers themselves, do we need to glorify them by having whole galleries? There would still be room for films etc about them, and surely they are still of merit even if the subject is undesirable. Regarding people like O.J., if they are celebrities who turned bad, then they still have reason to have open profiles, and fans etc. Should we allow glorification of people who are only known because of their crimes.

On the flip side... if we start closing off all that we disagree with, and remember that we all see things differently... what will we have left at the end of it all?

We made a list ourselves about the subject some time ago, but our point was to look at those who had played real-life serial-killers, which is perhaps better than putting the killers themselves on a pedestal.

Anyway, I think the final word on the matter was probably a few posts ago.

Yes because that is all I posted.

I didn't try to see your side of the argument as well as the opposing view. My post only dealt with the issue of bold font.

Sorry about that.

I take it you just want an argument, I don't, I can see both sides.

Good luck with your campaign.

Banning pics of people we don't like? I will say it in bold face: Caution! Slippery slope ahead! :D

@Supernaut I understand you position and everyone has different views, this is Listal it is about listing things that you find interesting.

If some people find serial killers interesting that is their choice, and unfortunately most high profile serial killers have had documentaries and films made about them because they are important pieces of history.

Look at Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot without knowledge of them and their depravity how are we too remember the victims, and by forgetting history it means forgetting what we do not wish to happen again. People needed to be reminded of past events so things don't happen again.

Yes bloody photos of victims is too much, and yeah I agree that maybe a limit of three pictures but their profiles should not be deleted.

Maybe you should make it as a suggestion, and see how it goes I would vote for a three photo policy for serial killers.

@dannijay "...bloody photos of victims is too much..."

Hold on, Listal already has a "don't promote hate", "no excessive violence" rule which applies to all images, including those on serial killers' profiles:

- No images promoting hate or racism
- No excessively violent images

@Supernaut "Like Dannserial rapist murderers should be forgotten by history...".

I beg to differ. Forgetting or ignoring horrible things is not the best way to avoid them.

Besides, maybe I never looked very hard, but I never noticed thousands of images of serial killers on Listal. I don't see a real issue there. If someone posts pics that promote hate or excessively violent images, just report them according to the image posting rules.

On the other hand, Listal does have a well known issue with pornish pics. Lots and lots, which Moderators could not handle. So, the 3-pic limit on profiles of porn stars makes sense.

@O.P Yeah I know the rules are there, but that does not stop people from posting crap and Supernaut said he reported images of Sharton Tates bloody body.

As you said if you come across pictures that violate the rules, report them.

Being fascinated by serial killers is a completely legit thing, and does not glorify them or what they did in any way. Some people are curious about what made them do such things. It's an interest that causes no harm.

As far as I can see, the only images that are being posted to those profiles are images of the person's themselves. There have rarely been uploaded images of violent murder scenes, so there's at the moment no need for a 3-image rule on those profiles. We can handle 5-10 images, and delete those. We can't handle 10,000 images of porn. So as long as the images of serial killers are restricted to images of them, I really don't see the problem.
