Most of the popular facebook applications allow you to do stuff within facebook though, I thought that was the point of the facebook applications. If it's just showing the latest added items it's not really an application just a widget.

I must admit it was annoying trying to convert an existing application to work with facebook which is why I have not continued with it. I am thinking about a different strategy of development and I might releasing an application which is the entire site rather than separated into sections. I could also release just a widget application as you say and see if people are interested in just that.

After all the custom lists I've worked on over in this thread, with many of the classics having to be added manually, here are suggestions I've noticed that are in dire need:

1. Allow to only add YEAR for release. I end up giving all old games where I can only find its year of release a date of 12/31/.... just because the system wont let me add year only.

2. It's 2008. please add 2008 to list of options from pull-down. Heck, add 2009 and 2010 as well, as some upcoming games have such expected release dates.

3. Perhaps add TBA option for date, for any upcoming games where date is unknown?

4. please please allow us to add Publisher and Developer to game entries. :)

5. Add localization in same area where we specify platform, and only allow certain options to be selected (NTSC or PAL for Consoles, and NA or UK for PC games). Right now, I add this info (PAL or UK) to the title of the game but it would be nice to do this without cluttering up the title.

6. Add pre-selected drop-down master list of platform for game edits and when adding new games. don't let others guess if it's DOS, Windows or PC Games. or if it's Xbox360 or Xbox 360. or if its NES or Famicom and NES. Pick a list, make it a master list of platforms, and games have to be in one of those categories only.

7. in regards to the previous suggestion, there is a nasty bug that occurs with more frequency. When items get added thru the amazon search feature, it sometimes forces an update to the listal database for that item, and changes the platform from PC Games to PC, or from Playstation Portable to Sony PSP. Items in my collection regularly keep flipping platforms and I have to go and edit to fix it.

8. several improvements to custom lists:
- make bigger lists load quicker. after about 50, it comes to a crawl
- easier to delete items and re-order items in a list. try having a 75 item list and delete and re-order things on them :(
- add custom notes to list items? It used to be possible in old old version of listal, but not anymore.
- show date right below platform in list-mode; it would make sorting manually by chrono-order so much easier.

9. several improvements to SEARCH feature. search is too basic right now and limited. try searching for SIMS and finding the xbox version. its a nightmare. here are some things i noticed:
- can't search for anything less than 3 characters long. exacmple, search for Call of Duty 2, and it will show ALL call of duty series (the '2' is ignored)
- give us options to filter search results (by platform, by year, etc..)
- plural words are ignored; if I search for 'truck' it doesn't show any results that has 'trucks' in it. it should show partial results if a word is over 4 or 5 characters long.
- one particular search fucked me over good (pardon my french). It seems all Amazon.com entries for RollerCoaster Tycoon were added with a space.. Roller Coaster. Searching for RollerCoaster Tycoon only showed me the UK versions, so I went and manually added all the proper titles manually, and only by fluke did i find out that there was lots of 'Roller Coaster' entries in the database. Well now I had created a bunch of dupes (more on that later), had to manually fix up the amazon incorrect spelling and cursed why listal couldn't instead use a google-style search that says things like 'did you mean Roller Coaster?' I fear other titles now. Is there a SimCity and Sim City in the database? :)
- another major gripe i have with the Search is the Amazon database part of it; if you search for something using the amazon option, it adds EVERY SINGLE result to listal's database. I searched for something on Final Fantasy on Amazon, and it added over 80 items such as Final Fantasy posters and Final Fantasy figurines from Amazon to listal. I then added manually Final Fantasy II (which is a Japanese only release, not in listal or amazon), and it shows up at the end of all results when searching for Final Fantasy (page 15 or so it was, after all posters and figurines and sticker books). I was patient enough to rename every one of those items from Final Fantasy to 'FF' just so it cleans up the search results. So maybe make it so I can (by default) weed out all with 'no platform set' which typcially means amazon crap-ware and not a true game.

10. on topic of duplicates, I started to add (duplicate) and sometimes post image that says 'duplicate' for anything that is clearly a dupe in the database, but if there was some automated way where users can report a dupe, give address of proper title, and if approved by Tom or moderator, it would delete the dupe and switch everyone who has the dupe listed to the proper entry, including reviews, tags, and ratings, that would be awesome. Dupes are a big pain in the arse lately.

11. and final suggestion. instead of just showing game 'favorites', perhaps show all 'custom lists' that game belongs to, with a link to that custom list. it would be it nice to see 'Police Quest series' list on every Police Quest game entry, and make it easier to find all related items without always relying on the deficient search option.

ok, i'm spent. but i had to document all the issues/gripes/suggestions i thought of last 2 weeks while i was heavily adding and editing game entries.

alright, simple suggestion... Writing Section(Must Be Literate At ALL Times In This Specific Thread) whether its a fan fict, an original, or just an idea gotten from another story, or a poem, a song, a play, whatever! anything that requires writing or typing that entertains something

heres another simple idea, Delete Anime thread for a few days, then bring it back up and start up fresh...

also, Fan Fictions are MOSTLY a bunch of idiots stealing and idea, warping it to a retarded form and then saying its godly(this goes for if they CONTINUE the story, starting fresh with one of ur original characters works just fine) BUT there are SOME fan fictions where somebody reads the manga or watches the show and when it ends they have a craving for more, and they write what they deire to happen on paper, the only good fanfics are the ones that have unexpected twists that dont TOTALLY throw the story off the road, instead they veer it back into the middle as u go along until u hit another unexpected twist

but ive only seen about 5 of those, Koji's is included in that 5 ;P

i did -_-' i said the only fan fictions that are actually good were 5 of them, urs included in that 5, the rest of the fan fictions are a bunch of immature brats making retarded morphed forms of the story(say making naruto sasuke's brotther and having kakashi be their father(ive read this one... pure crap...)

It would be better if separate threads were created for different suggestions, this thread is getting really confusing!

Is there anyway we could list characters/actors/artists as well as films etc. We can rate them, why not list them? After all they're such a major contributory factor to the quality of the movie.
