Tom Ewell was an American actor. His most successful and arguably most identifiable role of Richard Sherman in "The Seven Year Itch" which he played on both Broadway stage (1952-1954) and in the Hollywood film (1955). He played in several other light comedies in the 1950s, and though he preferred to work on the stage, he also played for several episodes in the popular 1970s television series "Baretta" in the 1970s. Ewell also served in the Navy during World War II.
