Thomas's addiction to film began at a very early age, he saw The Godfather at age 8, and understood it too, at least thats what he says. His favorite childhood film is Back to The Future, Michael J. Fox was his childhood hero along with Michael Jackson and David Jason. His current favorite film is High Fidelity and he is also a huge fan of Tim Burton.
Thomas always wanted to work in the entertainment field, he had stints as a theater actor, playing parts in various plays around Belfast and a couple in County Leitrim. One of his most notable and enjoyable roles was Seamus the cross dressing teacher in The Long White Door's production 'The Red Herring' in 1998, a character that Thomas created. Thomas was also a member of the pop group 'Non Stop' appearing on Michael Barrymore's 'My Kind of People' in 1999 in Liffey Valley, Dublin.
Thomas, around the year 2000, lost interest in the entertainment industry and focused on a career in retail where he worked as a department manager. However after encouragement from family and friends, most notably his wife Fiona, Thomas returned to study and in 2006 after a two year Diploma at Belfast Institute entered Queen's University to study Film Theory and Film Production.
