Mitichyan was born in Vanadzor. He started training at the age of eight in freestyle wrestling, before switching to training in Sambo and Judo. Mitichyan moved to America in 1997, and settled in Los Angeles in 2000 with the intention of pursuing an acting career. Roman has performed small roles and stunts in various films and television shows, including Felon, Queer as Folk, NUMB3RS, and Dexter.and a brief appearance in the 2010 movie Takers
