Laced with nostalgia of the 1980s, the motion picture The Wood hit theaters a decade later touted as a feel-good, then-and-now movie. The accompanying soundtrack, however, relies heavily on late-1990s talent and makes only three short trips back to the '80s. Classic tracks such as Whodini's "Freaks Come Out at Night" and 1987's beatbox-heavy "Make the Music with Your Mouth Biz" leaves listeners yearning for additional musical flashbacks.
