Since the early 1970s Vangelis has been one of the most successful composers of electronic albums and film scores. What is less well known is that Vangelis was once on the cusp of joining rock supergroup Yes (in between Rick Wakeman leaving and Patrick Moraz joining). It was this association which led to Yes's lead singer, Jon Anderson guesting on Vangelis' album Heaven and Hell, performing the song which became this collection's title track, the beautiful "So Long Ago, So Clear".
