Born in Texas in 1936, Roy Orbison started out his career as a country and western singer who gathered a loyal, local following in the 1950's. In 1988 Roy returned once again to the pop scene by joining forces with musical giants Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, George Harrison and Jeff Lynne creating the mystical group "The Traveling Wilburys".
Roy Orbison was embarking on a new musical career, recording a new solo album and touring once again. He passed away of a heart attack on December 6, 1988.
