Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies review

Posted : 7 years, 7 months ago on 30 September 2016 08:15

I'm bored zipping through Amazon, Netflix, and Hulu. Nothing really has my attention. I decided on this because I have seen the first one and it was alright. I have met Andrew Divoff and he is pretty cool so I thought I would go ahead and just watch this one too. It has a few people I didn't know were in it which is cool. You know Jack Sholder doesn't look like like a director. In fact he looks more like a lawyer or politician. Funny thing is he has directed man others including the second Nightmare on Elm Street. Anyways I'm curious as to if this is actually going to be decent or not.

This was really just okay. It was a bit awkward at times. It had some interesting deaths though that's for sure. It's the epitome of be careful what you wish for. Of course you will get what you want, but it will be at a price or taken the wrong way. I mean that lawyer scene was just plain wrong. The casino scene was my favorite because of how crazy and ridiculous it was.

It was cool to see some of the actors I know look fairly younger. Andrew Divoff's acting in these is pretty amusing. The make up effects when he is the Djinn are pretty cool. Holly Fields was pretty awful, but at least she was mostly nice to look at. Apparently Corey Haim took a cameo (that you would never know unless you read the trivia about this) as a joke between him and Holly Fields who was his girlfriend at the time apparently.

There some interesting ideas though with the kills. Andrew Divoff makes an odd but fun villain. The lead was not a very good choice. It had some good roles I wasn't expecting at first. It was nothing special. In fact the first one isn't really all that much better. I've seen worse out there though.
