To be honest, I wasn't really sure what to expect from this flick but since I had this DVD for ages (more than 4 years in fact...), I thought it was really time to watch the damned thing. While watching the damned thing, I discovered that I actually didn't know at all what it was about and I think it took me at least 20 minutes to figure out what the hell this story was dealing with. This was already not a very good sign, I'm afraid.. Indeed, it displayed a general clumsiness from the makers and it is not surprising that this movie was a directing debut, in this case, for Guillaume Canet. Basically, at first, I thought it was about what happens behind the scenes during an average TV show which sounded rather promising but, unfortunately, it was actually about some weird scheme developed by a rich TV producer and his wife. Well, when I finally knew what was the concept, to be honest, I didn't like it much and I thought it was actually rather lame. Still, the actors were not bad at all and it was especially pretty neat to see Diane Kruger just when she started her career, a few years before she had her international breakthrough with 'Troy'. Anyway, to conclude, even though the whole thing didn't really work and was sometimes even rather misguided, I have to admit that it was still a decent watch though and I think it is worth a look, especially if you are interested in French movies.
