"When Gretchen Carlson slaps Fox News founder Roger Ailes with a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, not a soul could predict what would happen next. Her decision leads to Fox News correspondent Megyn Kelly coming forward with her own story, as well as multiple other women, inciting a movement that reverberates around the world. This movie is based on the true story of the first "Me Too" case against a prominent man in power. This movie was better than I thought it would be. I was never bored an"
“Hmm, this is an odd to talk about. It bares a striking resemblance to the likes of Vice in which complicated, thorny material is presented with a degree of insouciance that is perhaps at odds with itself. Satire is all well and good but treating a glimpse behind the curtain with buffoonery may be a bridge too far when the story being told is that of sexual assault survivors reclaiming their power to take down the monster. Yes, even if the subject matter revolves around (groan) Fox News. It seems easy to take pot shots at that institution and their ability to distort and reframe every argument as an aggrievement or political spin for conservatism, but Bombshell always does. Megyn Kelly (Charlize Theron, nearly unrecognizable) begins with a direct address to camera that explains how the” read more
“(In theatre). All shades of sexual harrassment on a conservative environment; but there is one not too much covered. The profit and the guilt and the agenda some women have. "1.Renée Zellweger- JudyProbable winner. 2.Scarlett Johansson- Marriage StoryLock that could make a run at the prize. 3.Charlize Theron- BombshellAnother lock. 4.Awkwafina- The FarewellAfter the top three, the last two spots are extremely tight. Awkwafina, Cynthia Erivo, Lupita Nyong'o and Saoirse Ronan all have major claims to the nomination. Awkwafina won a Golden Globe, and is a likable talent on the rise; Erivo score a Globe and, more importantly, a SAG nomination, she's playing a histori"
"First viewing - Dec. 21st So here we have a story that's important and a wonderful cast to help realize it. And yet the characters are never explored deeply enough for it to matter much, which is a shame. It reminded me in some ways of The Big Short, and as such I was entertained for the most part. But it never crossed the line of greatness, and I can't imagine many people even talking about it after the next year or so."
"1.BombshellThe only out-and-out lock that the category has. I'm not going to call it the presumptive winner yet; this category typically goes to BP nominees, and there are a couple in contention this year (though if this one does make the BP cut, it's done). That said, it's getting nominated. 2.RocketmanOutside of Bombshell, Rocketman feels the safest. It's turning actors into musical legends; i.e. the easiest way to win one of these. 3.JokerIt took me a bit, but I'm warming to the idea of Jo"
