Zoe and Dan love each other. They live happily with Simon, their 10-year-old son near Bruges. Even Zoe's mother has come to terms with the situation and is now visiting her grandson. The arrival of new neighbors will upset this happiness. Humiliated by Max who calls him "son of dykes fagot", Simon gradually transforms his shame into hate vis-à-vis Dan, without which he would have had a real dad.
