The Wedding Planner Reviews

Sometime ago, Jennifer Lopez used to have a pretty successful movie career and this movie was her last box-office success. After this, all her movies tanked miserably and she is not really what you would consider a bankable actress anymore. Still, it doesn't mean that this movie was actually any good. Basically, even if Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey have some good chemistry, it remains a very generic, predictable and boring romantic-comedy. I also realized that it was the first time in his career that McConaughey tried this genre and afterwards many average and disappointing similar flicks would follow ('How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days', 'Failure to Launch', 'Fool's Gold', 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past',...). However, right now, it seems that he is making a really unexpected but welcome come-back with a serie of critically acclaimed flicks ('Dallas Buyers Club', 'The Wolf of Wall Street', 'Magic Mike',
'Mud', 'The Paperboy', 'Killer Joe', 'Bernie', 'The Lincoln Lawyer"). Coming back to our main subject, I think that back then Lopez was really in the spotlights and that would explain that people went to see this. Anyway, even though I have a weak spot for the genre, it remains a really average and predictable romantic-comedy and it is not really worth a look, in my opinion.
