An average movie

Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 10 October 2013 09:06

With ‘The Love Guru’, Mike Myers was hoping to make his great come-back with a new character which would be hopefully as popular as Wayne Campbell , Austin Powers or even Shrek but, unfortunately, the whole thing turned out to be a disaster, arguably even one of the worst movies ever made and even a small cameo in ‘Inglourious Basterds’ won’t manage to save the damage concerning Mike Myers' career. Anyway, way before all this, exactly 20 years ago, Myers showed up in this movie just after making ‘Wayne’s world’. It is nowadays pretty much forgotten which is not really surprising since it was really good at all but, at least, it wasn’t as awful as ‘The Love Guru’. To be honest, the whole thing had some potential and, actually, at some point, Woody Allen himself considered playing the main character and Sharon Stone was actually cast as his wife before she dropped out. I mean, with those two actors, it would have been much more interesting but with Mike Myers and Nancy Travis instead, the whole thing became much more bland and less edgy and, with them, you don’t feel much tension and what remains are some pretty lame jokes. To conclude, even though I have seen worse, it remains a disappointing dark comedy and it is not really worth a look, I’m afraid.

So I Married an Axe Murderer review

Am I the only one who does not think this film is that bad? I think Mike Myers has done much worse. The people who rated it a 1/10 obviously are just rating to get points, because the film is not bad at all. Of course it is not a masterpiece, don't get me wrong, but it's still pretty funny in parts, and it sure has it's moments.

If you think this is a bad film, then I highly suggest you watch Hellboy, Freddy got Fingered, Going Overboard, Anchorman, Step Brothers or Troll 2. My point being this isn't a bad film, I won't even call this a guilty pleasure mainly because it is not a bad film. I would give this film a 7/10. I could easily understand a 6, after all, everyone has different types of comedy they like.

This is an underrated film I should imagine. It's much better than The Cat in The Hat, and Love Guru, by a long shot. And how can you dislike a film with Phil Hartman, come on!!
