“To be honest, I always had a hard time with John Hughes, but since this movie had a decent reputation, I thought I might as well check it out. Eventually, I have to admit that it was actually not bad at all. Sure, it never reached the level of 'The Breakfast Club' which would remain forever his only real masterpiece but it was still a decent a directing debut. Indeed, even though I tend to think that John Hugues gets too much credit for his depiction of teenagers in the 80’s, I have to admit that he did a fine job here and the whole thing worked really well as long as it remained realistic.
