An average movie

I already saw this movie but since it was a while back, I thought I might as well check it out again. Well, to be honest, this movie never reached the level of Harrison Ford's great classics from the 80’s but I think it was not bad at all and eventually even fairly entertaining. Basically, it is a really light feature, rather pedestrian and really predictable and it followed the good old template of the male adventurer stuck with a city girl (see also ‘Romancing the Stone’). So, it was nothing original whatsoever but thanks to Ford’s charisma, it was still pretty fun. the time, many major stars like Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz or Uma Thurman were linked to the female main character but Anne Heche got the job after being picked out by Ford himself. I remember it very well, there was quite some fuss at the time because Anne Heche was involved with Ellen DeGeneres and the studios heads tried to get rid off here since they were not looking for a lesbian woman to play a supposedly attractive heterosexual woman but Harrison Ford made sure that she stayed on board and, eventually, they had a pretty good chemistry together. Anyway, to conclude, even though it was nothing really amazing, it was still a decent watch and I think it is worth a look.
