A bad movie

Posted : 8 years, 12 months ago on 30 April 2015 10:47

To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this flick and maybe I should re-watch it at some point. As a matter of fact, I actually ended up watching the damned thing in the movie theater when it was released. Back then, I must have been 13 years old and, obviously, I had no idea who was Mel Brooks but when I saw the trailer, I thought it looked quite hilarious so I was really eager to check this movie. Back then, a few years before, Mel Brooks had made ‘Life Stinks’ (another feature I happened to see in the movie theater when it was released) and even though it was pretty much his first straightforward comedy, it turned out to be a massive critical and commercial flop. As a result, Brooks decided to make another spoof again and even though it was fairly well received, I thought it was actually terribly lame. I mean, sure, I have seen it like ages ago and I was just a kid at the time but even then, while watching the damned thing, I couldn’t help thinking that they displayed the only funny jokes in the trailer and the rest was just terribly underwhelming. To conclude, even though I should probably give it a second chance, I really didn’t like it and I don’t think it is really worth a look.

Robin Hood: Men in Tights review

This is a movie that I secretly love. It's so cheesy and predictable, but we need that sometimes and I feel this is the best film to have that satisfaction to.

I'm not going to lie, this film makes me laugh about 2-3 times every 5 minutes. The jokes are witty and the film itself is just charming.

The acting is overly done, almost sarcastically but is acceptble because this entire film is a spoof.

I must add, you gotta love the Cary Elwes movies, for real. If I had to choose a mascot for the perfect prince figure it would totally go to him.

Lastly Mel Brooks is just awesome. :D

Robin Hood: Men in Tights is a side-splittingly funny movie. When I saw it for the first time in theaters I was finally old enough to get some of Brook's more adult jokes and about died laughing. I don't usually like musical numbers but I think the 'We're Men in Tights' song/dance number is fabulous. I love this movie and it makes laugh just quoting lines from it. Truly one of my favourite movies.
