Fun movie

Posted : 1 year, 11 months ago on 4 June 2022 09:51

I will admit Open Season isn't outstanding, but it was likable and fun. It is too short however, there are some predictable parts in the story and it occasionally feels too rushed. That said, it looks wonderful, with some lovely backgrounds and colours and the character designs are agreeable. The soundtrack is cool, the script has its funny moments with some of the more adult humour decently done and enough wit to satisfy anybody and the characters are likable especially Grizzly. Also the voice acting is surprisingly good, I was surprised at some of the choices(ie. Billy Connolly) of those to do the voices but all breathed life more than adequately to these fun characters. Overall I liked it, it was flawed yes but it was fun, that's all that matters at the end of the day. 7/10 Bethany Cox

Hi People im wlaterwhite im gonna review open season let,s Begin

The story is mediocre but it would have been made for a series of 23 minutes or less
it is also predictable because with bad idea had to think several things to make the film of 90 minutes at least madagascar can improve even though it was with the third the other two are shit

the various characters are bad as the villain is a mentally retarded the main characters are a little annoying I even think gissele is the only innocent

the animation of being sony is decent is good but average bone is not surprising
and if to be sony is aceptable

I No Have more to thing so

mediocre film not to expect from sony even though it is something decent the story but that of film is more of a series of 1 hour I felt it much shorter it is better than its sequels and that other of sony pictures shows that it is not greedy like ilumination but not that it was outstanding more than with the average animation and somewhat annoying characters that we say ...

Final Rating 5,4

This is all im walterwhite and bye

An average movie

Ever since ‘Toy Story’ became a critical and financial success, CGI animation has been an ever expanding market. Nowadays, you have two giants, ‘Pixar’ and ‘Dreamworks’, but behind those two , you can find a multitude of smaller studios trying their hands at this popular genre. One of them is Sony Pictures Animation. Their business is actually pretty healthy, although it is rather disappointing that their most successful feature happens to be so far ‘The Smurfs’. Anyway, this flick was their first feature film and I thought it was a flop but, in fact, it was actually quite successful even though not at the level of such a mega success like ‘Shrek’ for example. Anyway, I thought it was not bad at all, especially for a first production. Indeed, I really liked the animation and the characters were cecent. Unfortunately, the story was barely original. I mean, at this point, I had rather enough of those features with speaking animals. Some like ‘Finding Nemo’ were great, some were pretty good like ‘Madagascar’ but most of them are terribly generic and this one was not an exception. Still, I think it remains a decent animated feature and it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.

Open Season review

Posted : 13 years, 3 months ago on 1 February 2011 09:11

Open Season is yet another in the long recent line of computer animated films dealing with animals on the loose. Like Madagascar and Over The Hedge before it, there is almost enough in the film to make it more for adults than kids. Unlike those two examples, however, this film never really rises above the pack and sets itself apart as a great film. There are some really funny parts including a piece devoted to going to the bathroom in the woods, but ultimately the film just bogs down in its been there done that storyline. Undoubtedly kids will get a real kick out of the animals and their highjinks but I can't see this film having the real lasting power of the classics of the genre.

Production line stuff

Not bad. But really just another attempt to cash in on the anthropomorphic craze that’s blighting cinema. The characters are shallow and the plot line has been done before a million times, looking for home but realising; you've been there all along. End this now, The Wild, Over the Hedge, Surfs Up all carbon copies with an unoriginal, factory produced feel about them.
