Una película que mantiene al espectador con la acción y el suspenso al límite, sin embargo el final no me gusto porque deja provocado para una secuela pero la verdad no muy fuerte de querer hacerla y es que a la fecha no se hablo de eso

An average movie

Posted : 13 years ago on 9 May 2011 04:55

Honestly, even though this movie had a terrible rep (like most of the movies involving Nicolas Cage nowadays), since there was a pretty neat cast, I was still eager to check it out. Indeed, before watching the damned thing, I had heard so many bad things but I was (almost) positively surprised by the end-result. Indeed, there were indeed a lot of good things and the best was probably the concept which was actually pretty awesome. Eventually, they had this very cool idea which was very well developped for about, let's say, 15-20 minutes, but then the movie took a very bad direction and it became watchable at best but still pretty average. And, then, there was the end.... I have seen about 5000 movies so far but this ending must one of the worst I have ever seen. I mean, it is so underwhelming, so lame, it completely shattered the little hope I still had at this point for this movie. To conclude, I still think it was a great concept but it was eventually very poorly developped which was too bad because it actually had some potential. Anyway, all in all, I don’t think it is worth a look, except if you want to be disappointed again by Nicolas Cage.

Bad choices can make you lost all your good job..

This is a sample of the important of so many choices that production has to made to accomplish a real good film, first and most important: the Casting; This was really not a movie for Nic Cage as Starring. definitely was a really bad idea, with a better lead actor the movie will turns differently and better off course.
2nd, They had a TERRIFIC, splendid screenplay of a guy who could see his shortly future, but the way sometimes they played was awful.. it was poor. with a better creative team and a better team of art this movie would be a huge successful & its obviously that it wasn't.

things to rescue, mostly the flash times of cage when he see his future and make you feel that is going its a great way to get the people stoned.
Jessica Biel made great her work & the bombs, action effects was a really good job.

A duck/rat hybrid.

This film wasn’t that bad...I wanted to hate it..but I couldn’t hate it entirely. I like the idea of seeing slightly into the future, the protagonist constantly assessing and reassessing their next move.

The blurb for the DVD used the words 'terrorists', 'Vegas Magician', 'nuclear bomb', 'against the clock'. Which made me immediately buy it for my mum, a notorious lover of crap action films.

It was however, better than I thought it would be. On many an occasion I was genuinely impressed at the storyline and concept. But I cannot stress how much better it would have been, had they not cast Nic Cage.

Does Cage meet any of the criteria needed in an action hero?

Body built for vest wearing: No
Roguishness: No
Buzz cut: No
All American: No
Low, gravelly or alluring voice: No
Good looking: No

In short, Cage is not an action hero. On more than one occasion I physically laughed at him running away from explosions and an avalanche of cars; like an injured Daddy Long Legs. I laughed even harder at the 'romantic' schpeel he was given to utter, as his physical self obviously wasn't a believable attraction to Jessica Biel.

Cris Johnson: "There's an Italian painter, named Carlotti, and he uh, ahem, defined beauty. He said it was the summation of the parts working together in such a way that nothing needed to be added, taken away or altered, and that's you. You're beautiful."

If a man said that to me...well he better not look like Nic Cage at the same time..let’s say that. It reminded me of a friend of mine who everyone says is like a duck/rat hybrid.

Despite it all, I’d say ‘Next’ is worth the watch. It will give you a good laugh in places and will keep you mildly entertained for a small time.

I was into this film, from beginning to end. There were no dull moments. Nicolas Cage, Was great, along with Julianne Moore, and Jessica Biel, who were also great. I really enjoyed, seeing Nicolas Cage, dodging bullets, and knowing what was going to happen, in the future. This is a great film.

Cris 'Cadillac' Johnson (Nicolas Cage) performs magical acts in Las Vegas. He foresees by a few minutes what is going to happen. An FBI agent (Julianne Moore) is searching to use his services to locate a nuclear bomb brought in the country by Russians. But Cris won't help. Until he meets Liz Cooper (Jessica Biel). He will do anything to keep her safe.

So many flaws in the script I don't know where to begin. The dialogue is trite and predictable.
The CG was indeed awful, but all the action scenes compensate for the rest of the movie.
Cage and Biel were very lousy performers. And Moore simply looked old, the make-up on her was so bad.

The ending was good though. You expect it, and you don't

Worth watching for entertainment purposes only.

Surprisingly good

I went into this movie expecting garbage and was very pleasantly surprised. The trailers made it look like trash but I actually really liked it.

If you are not a fan of Nicholas Cage then this probably won't do anything more for you, but if you are, full steam ahead. I actually liked Jessica Biel this time around too; usually I don't. Julianne Moore was pretty awful.

The CG was pretty awful but the action scenes were a blast to watch.

Hesitant recommendation because I know it is a 'bad movie', but it's a good one!
