Smart, dark and fun teen comedy!

Posted : 2 years ago on 8 May 2022 11:17

I thought this a really entertaining film. With a spirited cast, a very good script, a good soundtrack and a nice romance what more could you possibly want? Lindsey Lohan is lovely as Cady Heron, better than she was in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. She is given great support from an excellent supporting cast, from the likes of Tina Fey and Rachel McAdams. The script was dark and humorous, my favourite bit was when all the girls start fighting after they discover that they are being badmouthed in a book. And there is always time for a romance that doesn't always interfere with the story. In fact, my only real complaint is that it gets a little sentimental, but apart from that, an enjoyable and engaging film, with a 8/10. Bethany Cox

A good movie

Looking back to this movie, it seems as if it has been made ages ago, when in fact, it was released only a decade ago. Back in those days, Lindsay Lohan was one of the most popular teen idols and she seemed to be on the verge of a very successful career. Well, while I watching this with my step-daughter at the time, we didn’t really expect that she would become first a wild party animal and then a genuine train wreck completely out of control.  Eventually, it is actually Lohan’s co-stars, Rachel McAdams  and Amanda Seyfried , who both managed to become some of the most successful actresses of their generation (it is even more remarkable for Seyfried considering how shallow her character was in her acting debut). Anyway, coming back to our main feature, even though it was nothing really amazing, I have to admit it that it was a decent watch and probably one of the best high-school comedies ever made. Indeed, basically, it still follows the usual formula without being really revolutionary but the jokes were decent, the characters  were quite funny and the whole thing was just plain entertaining. To conclude, this movie will probably be remembered as the last decent movie starring Lindsay Lohan but I still think it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.

Mean Girls review

It might seems one more teen movie at a school, but the idea of the movie goes furthermore. Mean Girls can portrays very well what really happens in the girl’s universe in that turbulent epoch which is adolescence, with ingredients such as: deceit, jealousy, boyfriend and fight for popularity. It also discusses the personality change that many have to fit through and be accepted by a particular group. A great movie for all ages and funny enough a good moral in the mix of it all.
