In this Russian sci-fi adventure, the first one made since 1924, a renegade scientist gets disgusted with the restrictions of the highly conservative Moscow Institute for Interplanetary Travel and decides to build his own spacecraft. He succeeds and so takes his lovely female assistant and heads for the moon.
