An average movie

Honestly, I have never heard of this flick before but since there was a nice cast, I thought I should check it out anyway. Eventually, I discovered this movie sat for almost 3 years on the shelves and it was finally released following the growing popularity of Vin Diesel back then. Personally, I thought there were many things to enjoy in this flick. It is one of those gangster movies dealing with the psychogoly of those gangsters, in thise case, some young men struggling to find their place in the world whereas their fathers are some hotshots in the mob. Furthermore, there was a pretty cool cast (Barry Pepper, Vin Diesel, Seth Green, John Malkovitch and Dennis Hopper) and they all delivered some decent performances, especially Malkovitch who stole the show everytime he was on the screen. Still, it wasn't complitely satisfactory as the makers keept switching tone between action stuff and more pscychological matters and, as a result, the whole thing felt rather unbalanced and out of focus. Still, it remains a decent gangster flick and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
