Kill Bill: Vol. 2 review

Posted : 3 years, 2 months ago on 15 February 2021 08:37

Overrated and Boring.

Posted : 9 years, 7 months ago on 18 September 2014 03:32

To say that Kill Bill 2 is as enjoyable as Kill Bill 1 is an understatement, even though i'm not a fan of Quentin Tarantino movies, i had a blast watching the first kill bill, the whole revenge theme was very appealing, the stylist violence, the score, everything about that movie was extremely well executed, so i was really excited to watch the 2nd volume, given the fact that it had the same critical acclaim as the first one, and i was hugely disappointed by this movie.

It's an action movie, with 5 maybe 6 action scenes, a 137 minutes movie with 5 to 6 actual action scenes, a 2 hours and 16 minutes movie that was labeled "action" but with only 5 to 6 action scenes, yeah...let's that sink in, although the movie did have it's style, same as the first one, and did have the characters, but it's still actionless, instead, there was more dialog than the first one, and given that Quentin Tarantino was the writer, the dialog should be interesting, same as pulp fiction or other Tarantino movies, but we couldn't be more wrong, the scenes were extremely boring.

Tarantino stretched some scenes way too long, making the movie unbearable, and not only that, but the whole movie is slow, they even talked slow, you sit there looking at their mouths just waiting the words to pop up so the scene can ends, and that's killed it for me, because i did enjoy the action in this movie, like i said before, the movie still have Tarantino touch of stylist violence, but with each boring 30 minute you get to see a 5 minute action scene.

The story here is better, because you get to see what actually happened in the first Kill Bill and why did Bill killed her, so any unexplained events that happened in the first kill bill, is explained here, but that's along with great performance by Uma Thurman and few good action scenes are the only good qualities of this movie, because there wasn't any bad-ass characters here, most fights are one on one, no good weapons and too much Uma Thurman feet (Tarantino foot fetish kicks in) and too much Uma Thurman suffering scenes and many cliche and boring characters, for example, 'The Master' (Bald Guy) character was the most generic cliche Kong fu master ever, even David Carradine (bill) was terrible, and the scene were he starts narrating about super heroes, Batman, Spiderman and Superman, was shockingly slow, stupid and out of place.

Overall, it was a boring, very long, actionless, overrated, slow movie, with too many boring, unnecessary dialog scenes, and much less bad-ass characters, and shared one thing only with the first kill bill which is the style, but that's not enough to make it a decent movie.

Kill Bill: Vol. 2 review

Quentin Tarantino revels in the art and craft of cinema; so much so he has managed to mine all his favourite genres and make the style the substance...Kill Bill 2 is a Quentin Tarantino road movie, with each chapter bringing a new character or a fresh direction for us to follow. It’s a blast of an escapist movie - a fitting conclusion to Tarantino’s ultimate revenge movie, with a plot that never falls into the predictable, and keeping us breathless throughout.

Kill Bill: Vol. 2 review

Gory, unbelievably exciting and featuring fight sequences that will have you drooling on the edge of your seat, the concept is incredibly simple. 'KILL BILL'.
Definitely up there with 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Inglourious Basterds' as Quentin Tarantino's best film to date, it is an old fashioned horror/comedy/drama that is just so entertaining!

Kill Bill: Vol. 2 review

Many things can be said about Kill Bill Vol. 2 or even Quentin Tarantino in general. First of all, that man is a genius.

Secondly, not many people know that Kill Bill Volume 1&2 are actually 1 film and not two separate ones. I REPEAT: KILL BILL VOL.2 IS NOT A SEQUEL.

This is important to consider when comparing it to the first film.
It should be noted that Volume 1 is the QUESTIONS,
and Vol. 2 is the ANSWERS.

Here's the thing about Quentin Tarantino- You either think he's a genius, or you think he's a freak.

You either love him or you hate him. I happen to love him. Is he a freak? Yes. But that's why Kill Bill is so special. It is its CREATIVITY.

They actually used more gallons of blood filming Kill Bill than any other movie they had before( a large part of that coming from the fountain of blood or the pool of blood).

OKAY, so short and simple. Do you like movies that are a little bit out there? Do you like girl power? Do you like samurai and western style films? Do you wanna learn the five point palm exploding heart technique ( too bad, Pai Mai teaches no one:P, jkjk lol) ? Then
WATCH KILL BILL.

AND REMEMBER VOL 2 IS NOT A SEQUEL!
Go forth and prosper :]

A really overrated movie

Posted : 13 years, 8 months ago on 20 August 2010 09:32

Honestly, I was not a big fan of 'Kill Bill: Vol. 1' but it was fun and I liked it even if it wasn't a masterpiece, in my opinion. So, I had some rather low expectations before watching this second part. To my surprise, this movie was eventually even more disappointing. Indeed, in my opinion, it was not really fun and honestly even quite boring... Basically, it might be the worst movie directed by Tarantino so far. Sure, since Tarantino was directing, it was still not bad at all and actually rather entertaining but it was far from being a great movie and it must be one of the most overrated movies ever made, at least,  in my opinion. Some viewers (probably Tarantino as well) think that those two movies are actually one big epic story and I tend to respectfully disagree. Indeed, there was an obvious difference in style and tone between the two movies. Basically, the first movie was a fun throwback to the 70's martial arts movies from Hong Kong whereas the second movie was just ... something else rather boring to behold. To conclude, even a boring movie directed by Tarantino is still much better than all the garbage you can see nowadays, so I still think it is worth a look but I seriously don't get what was the fuss about this flick.

Gruesome and intense sequel!

Posted : 14 years, 3 months ago on 24 January 2010 07:37

As soon as I saw Volume 1 film on DVD, I immediately put the disc in for Volume 2 because I was so excited about what was going to happen. However, when I watched the sequel, I really enjoyed it almost as much as the first film but I don?t think it needed to be as long as it was. I personally think that the second one could have been cut by about 10 minutes because the scenes with the Bride and Bill dragged on a bit for quite some time until the fight between them. I thought that Bills explanation of why he did what he did was a bit too much. Also when the Bride was learning the martial arts, that sort of went a bit slow as well and had a few silly moments but despite that, I was still gripped with the film. There was more and more violence within this film which is absolutely typical Tarantino. There was a lot more drama in this film as well which is something I really enjoyed. I figure that Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Volume 2 are mixtures of different genres because there is action, drama, crime, tension and even some romance involved too. Kill Bill: Volume 2 is another absolutely brilliant Quentin Tarantino film but I still preferred Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Inglourious Basterds.

Uma Thurmans reprises her role as the Bride. I think that in the first film we see how brutal and how deadly the Bride really is but in the second one, we see that the character has a heart and has feelings which is something that, to be fair, wasn?t really expecting going into this film and that is the point. Obviously, the Bride was still on her dark and deadly path of revenge for what happened to her but along the way, she comes across a lot of awkward situations and hard things to get out of; such as the buried alive scene. David Carradine was absolutely terrific as Bill! I think David played the character not only as an evil man but also played the really good ladies man as well especially when he is scenes with the Bride and their daughter. He acts like he is charming the Bride not to kill him. The rest of the cast were absolutely terrific as well as their reprised characters.

Quentin Tarantino directs this film pretty much the same as he does with the first film. He obviously adds crime and coolness into it and he tests out adding drama too which worked really well with the way it was filmed, written and acted. Both Kill Bill films show how graphic and hardcore Quentin Tarantino wants the violence to be in his films which is something that I really appreciate out of Quentin because his films are so cool and so dark and you cant see a cool film without violence or swearing in them. Quentin Tarantino just writes original scripts from stories that just come out of his own mind. As far as I?m concerned, he is a genius screenwriter!

Overall, Kill Bill: Volume 2 is an extremely violent, tense, action-packed and comic-book like thrill ride that kept me glued from start to finish. I think that Kill Bill (meaning both) is one of the best action films in a long time and will be very hard to top.

Kill Bill: Vol. 2 review

Posted : 16 years, 10 months ago on 28 June 2007 06:32

I thought this was actually better then Vol. 1 although I was annoyed by the scene where she goes to kill Budd and kicks open the door. I couldn't help but think how idiotic she was. You'd think after you'd been through that much you'd actually thoroughly consider what you were doing wouldn't you? I thought the movie was going to be just one long piece of stupidity after that but once it got to the part with Pai Mei (even if he did annoy me with his flicking of the beard and he was a stereotype) I felt it went in a better direction. A bit predictable in parts but still pretty good.
