Of course, since this movie has such a lame reputation, I wasn't expecting much but, after all these years, I still wanted to check if it was really so bad. And, indeed, I have to agree, it was just really weak. However, to be honest, I don't think that Mariah Carey was so bad though. I mean, sure, by playing a singer, she didn't take any risk but, even though I have never been a fan, she does have an impressive voice and, at the time, she looked seriously sexy. Unfortunately, pretty much everything else in this movie was just so tedious and borderline pathetic. Indeed, first of all, they used pretty much all the clichés involved in such stories about a rising singer and, to make things worse, there was absolutely no edge whatsoever. I mean, for half of the duration, there was no conflict at all and the best thing they could come up with was to have her breaking up with her boyfriend who was becoming a jealous douchebag. Anyway, to conclude, I actually don't think that it is one of the worst movies ever made but there is no doubt that it is still seriously weak and you shouldn't waste your time like I did watching the damned thing.

The September 11 attacks occurred 10 days before the release of 'Glitter', and Mariah Carey blamed the attacks for keeping people away from cinemas. Though a film's overall gross doesn't define how good the film actually is (such as 'The Shawshank Redemption'), in this case, it's a bad film, and most of the people who have seen the film would agree. 

'Glitter' is a really terrible, completely boring and annoying flick, so they produce awful singing and an unbelievable cast

"Everybody out there, don't ever watch 'Glitter' anytime!" should be what Billie says before she sings, a worthless flick
