Girl House Reviews

I watched the trailer and thought yeah this one actually looks pretty good. It has to be better than Muck right? The beginning really reminded me of the Halloween remake although of course still quite different. Oh wow it's directed by Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer. I didn't even realize that. I also didn't know Camren Bicondova (Gotham's future Catwoman) was in this. She still seems like her character in Gotham although a little more extreme. This movie is about porn yet the nudity isn't as graphic or tasteless as in Muck. I have to say it must have been hard to make a movie about the porn industry that doesn't go to extremities. I don't think I have ever seen a killer do what this one does. I have to say one of those kills was pretty crazy. The acting is actually pretty good and the characters are all pretty likeable. Some stuff I actually didn't see coming. This had some points I thought were kind of original. It made me have a few Sorority Row flashbacks with hot girls in a big house scenario.

Pros:
-Somewhat Original yet familiar
-Doesn't overdo the content while still giving us a taste
-Good characters played by decent actors
-It had a few different kinds of kills
-A killer who doesn't play by the book

Cons:
-Took a little long to get to the action
-Would've liked a little more backstory for the villain
-They could have expanded some of the other girls to make us care more when they died since the movie had so much set up time

All in all this is actually a pretty decent horror flick. It isn't over the top. It deals with it's content in a mature tasteful way. If you want to see something familiar that has it's own original quirks I suggest trying this one.
