"Best Actress In A Comedy - Kate McKinnon"
"OCTOBER 11: Just bought this movie and decided to watch it same day. According to Rotten Tomatoes, it has a fairly high score, but IMDb is showing something a little more mediocre. It was fun and a great way to reboot the franchise, but I miss the guys (even though three of the four had cameos in here; all four if you count Ramis' statue bust). The girls did bring a lot of hilarity to the movie, but it was good that they toned down from what they are used to bringing to the table in comic relief"
"Cast 15.11 Kristen Wiig Melissa McCarthy Leslie Jones Kate McKinnon 116min"
“Ghostbusters, or Ghostbusters: Answer the Call as it’s dubbed during the end credits, is much better than the loud, annoying crybabies would have you believe. Much like the original, this spin on the material is a herky-jerky ride between improve comedy and jump-scares. When it works, it’s very funny, but when it doesn’t, it’s a little long and too enamored with the source material for its own good. You know when Ghostbusters is at its most fun? When it merely points at a camera at its four strong leading comediennes and lets them riff off of each other. Granted, without a straight man, these scenes sometimes play out as a live-action cartoon, but the commitment that Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones bring to their roles goes a long way towards ma” read more

“I had no problem with the idea of female Ghostbusters. My gripe is that there are tons of comedy actresses who are way better. Melissa McCarthy is the best here, but most of the time I just find her average. A few I find funnier are Aisha Tyler, Tina Fey, and Iliza Sheslinger. I'm just glad that many of the originals had roles here. Of the movies I have seen from Paul Feig I thought Spy was surprisingly funny and Heat was pretty good too. Kate Dippold wrote for The Heat. So it can't be all that bad I hope.
Well it wasn't a complete waste of time. It had some fairly funny moments. It even paid some good homage to the originals. There were some new ideas here and there that I liked. There is some stuff during the credits that were kind of amusing. At times it came off as a bit too ” read more
"When: August 11th First-Time Viewing: Yes. How: In theaters. What'd I Think?: Occasionally funny, but underwhelming, mostly unnecessary reboot. My Rating: 6/10 Other Notes: NA."
"The film does have some laughs and creative ideas that show the film had potential, but the overuse of CGI, some really unfunny moments, and an awful performance by Kate McKinnon are enough to prevent this from being anything other than watchable. 5.5/10"
" Notes: Right from the start, this reboot was criticized and it turned out to be a flop which was hardly surprising. The funny thing is that, like many other movies in this list ('Salt', 'World War Z', 'Green Lantern', 'Terminator Genisys', 'Fantastic Four', 'Jumper' ...), the studios claimed right after the release that a sequel would still come up because they were so confident but it seems that it won't come up after all."
