Posted : 11 years, 3 months ago on 19 February 2013 06:08Last silent Lubitsh is essetially romantic, with the suicide of lovers thanks to the fury of elements (avalanche of snow in this case). The Lubitsh touch is just in one great scene, the masked ball, with the flamboyant Barrymore jumping as Fairbanks and cooling off his desire for Camilla Horn, with Mona Rico.

Posted : 12 years, 11 months ago on 17 June 2011 07:24Not one of the better examples of either John Barrymore or Ernst Lubitsch, but given their respective normal standards, that hardly disqualifies the term "good picture". It's a solid enough piece, beautifully filmed.
