I wasn't expecting much from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Kevin Costner, I thought I should give it a try. Tom Shadyac had some major success with comedies ('Bruce Almighty', 'Liar Liar', 'The Nutty Professor', 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective') especially with Jim Carrey but this time, he tries something completely different, a supernatural drama. For Kevin Costner, it was also a different genre and you have to give him some credit for trying. Unfortunately, I thought the whole thing was pretty bad. Indeed, it was preposterous which was something expected with this genre but it was also really overly sentimental and terribly cheesy. Kevin Costner tries really hard and I don't think he should be blame for this but what a snooze party... Indeed, above all, I thought it was completely boring and I didn't care at all about the story and/or the characters involved. To conclude, even though Kevin Costner is a nice actor, I thought it was just a bad movie and it is not really worth a look.
