"Mizoguchi dissects and points out the structural flaws and ableism in a lot of Japan's past social and societal norms in a movie that goes exactly the way you'd think but it still surprises you at just about every turn by just being the sharpest damn knife in the drawer. God damn do the forests in this movie look incredible!"
