A good movie

To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this flick. Still, I remember quite well when I saw the damned thing. Indeed, since I always had a weak spot for Ridley Scott’s work, I was quite eager to check it out but I have to admit that I had some rather low expectations towards the damned thing.  Eventually, maybe it was because it didn’t expect much but even though it is probably one of the more obscure movies delivered by Scott, I actually enjoyed the damned thing. I mean, like most of the other movies coming from this director, there was absolutely no substance about it whatsoever but I thought it was very well made and it was also simply quite entertaining. Above all, I really enjoyed the mood they created and even though this movie actually didn’t have much else to offer, it was apparently enough for me. Anyway, it is definitely another feature I should re-watch at some point to make up my mind for good about the damned thing. To conclude, even though it is pretty much forgotten nowadays, I thought it was a decent thriller and I think it is worth a look, especially if you are interested in Ridley Scott’s work.

Black Rain

Michael Douglas (Nick) and Andy Garcia (Charlie) chase and try to apprehend a killer who flees to Japan...to try to bring him back to justice. Michael Douglas (as Nick) the NY police office does whatever it takes to bring the "untouchable" Japanese Yakuza member to face the crimes he has committed in the movie. The heartless execution, the bike chase, the stake out, all the way through the final fight scene posts this movie as one of my favorite of all time movie epics. Get this...it is unforgettable.By far, (for me) it is (and should be) one of the most necessary genre of your DVD/blueray collection ESPECIALLY if you have NEVER been to Japan. Truly for me a timeless classic. :-)
