Description:
A poet named Stony Stevenson writes a jingle to enter a contest to be an astronaut and wins. But when his ship enters a space anomaly called a Chrono-Synclastic Infidibulum, he is split into copies of himself in different worlds, each of which confronts a nightmarish futuristic situation. A religious hermit reveals that he started a nature religion to save the people, but his plan to include imagined persecution backfires when the persecution becomes real.
