Mitzi Peirone was born and raised in Turin, Italy where she received an intensive classical humanistic education, focusing on philosophy, art history, Greek tragedy, opera and literature. After high school Peirone left Italy to study theater in New York City at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts: while acting in a few short films and modeling, Mitzi felt the need to write her own screenplay, Braid, which rapidly became her main focus.
