Michael was born in Victoria, B.C. but, at a very young age, he moved with his family to Southern Manitoba, Canada, where he was was raised on a small family farm.
Michael has been performing for most of his life. At a young age he got his start in theatre and migrated West, in his youth, to pursue work in film and television, as well. Arriving in Vancouver, in the late '80s, he continued his work in theatre while appearing on television shows such as "Northwood" and "Neon Rider".
