McBride has been called the "Céline Dion of Country Music" for her big-voiced ballads and soprano range. McBride was signed to RCA Records in 1991 and made her debut the following year as a neo-traditionalist country singer with the single, "The Time Has Come." It was not until 1997, when she released her fourth album, Evolution, that she broke through into the country music industry with a new pop-styled crossover sound, similar to that of Faith Hill and Shania Twain. McBride was signed to RCA Records in 1991 and made her debut the following year as a neo-traditionalist country singer with the single, "The Time Has Come." It was not until 1997, when she released her fourth album, Evolution, that she broke through into the country music industry with a new pop-styled crossover sound, similar to that of Faith Hill and Shania Twain. From that point on, McBride has had a string of major hit singles on the Billboard country chart and occasionally on the adult contemporary chart. Five of these singles went to No. 1 on the country chart between 1995 and 2001, and one peaked at No. 1 on the adult contemporary chart in 2003.

McBride has recorded a total of nine studio albums, one "greatest hits" compilation, one "live" album, a "Christmas" compilation, as well as two additional compilation albums. Seven of her studio albums and two of her compilations have received an RIAA certification of "Gold", or higher. Worldwide, she has sold over 18 million albums. In addition, Martina has won the Country Music Association's "Female Vocalist of the Year" award four times (tied with Reba McEntire for the most wins) and the Academy of Country Music's "Top Female Vocalist" award three times.

Martina McBride is an American country music singer. Her discography consists of nine studio albums, three compilation albums and fifty singles.

Spending about seven years in Nashville, following arranging a demo tape, McBride was signed to RCA Nashville Records in 1991. The following year she released her first single "The Time Has Come" (a Top 25 country hit) and her debut album shortly after, The Time Has Come. For about four to five years, McBride had a series of Top 10 hits and was marketed as a Neo-Traditionalist country artist with such hits as "Independence Day," "Safe in the Arms of Love," and "Wild Angels" (her first #1). Her next two albums following her debut, The Way That I Am and Wild Angels were each certified Platinum in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America.

In 1997, McBride released her breakthrough album, Evolution. The album spawned five Top 10 hits, including two #1s, "A Broken Wing" and "Wrong Again." The new album put McBride in a more comfortable country-pop format, which set the trend for her next two releases, Emotion (1999) and Greatest Hits (2001). She had further major hits including "I Love You" (which spent 5 weeks at #1), "Blessed", and "Concrete Angel." In 2003, she released her sixth album, Martina which featured the singles "This One's for the Girls" and "In My Daughter's Eyes." Both songs were Top 5 country hits, as well as mainstream hits on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart. Two years later McBride released her first album of cover versions entitled Timeless. In 2007, McBride reverted back to contemporary country with her eighth studio album, Waking Up Laughing, which brought about her first Top 10 hit since 2003, "Anyway."

In March 2009, she released her most recent studio album, Shine. Its lead single, "Ride" peaked in the Top 15 on the Hot Country Songs chart in mid 2009, and its second single was released to radio in May 2009 entitled, "I Just Call You Mine." which peaked at #18 on the country chart. Since her debut, McBride has had nearly most of her albums certified by the RIAA, with 5 Platinum certified albums, 2 multi-Platinum certified albums, and one Gold album, which means she has sold over 18 million albums in the worldwide. ...
