The Transformers (1984)
The original series begins the "Generation 1" timeline.
(NOTE: Season 4 concludes the show's story arc in North America, but in Japan they opted to not import Season 4, but to instead air their own continuation of the series that was not aired in America. This is when the "Japanese G1 Continuity" split from the original English timeline. As far as North America is concerned, Season 4 ends the original cartoon's story arc. You may also hear about "Generation 2", but those episodes were simply G1 episodes that were re-packaged with a new intro so that they could be re-broadcast in the mid-1990's...so they don't count as new content in the continuity.)

Transformers: Armada
This series is the beginning of the "Unicorn Trilogy" timeline.
(NOTE: While waiting for "Armada" to finish production, the Japanese Transformers show "Robots in Disguise" was aired in North America as a filler show, not being tied to any existing continuity. It was later retconned to the "Japanese G1 Continuity", so even though it did actually air on TV in English in North America, "RiD 2001" is usually considered to be one of the Japanese Transformers shows and is thus excluded from this list. "RiD 2001" has also never been released in any form of home media in North America, adding to its irrelevance to the North American Transformers franchise.)

Transformers (2007)
This is the first move in the "Live-Action Film Series" timeline, and starts the general pattern of airing a new animated show between the release of each film.
Transformers: Animated (2007)
This is the only series in the "Animated Continuity" timeline, and is not tied to any other series or film. (It was released as a revamped 25th anniversary series, paying homage to many G1 characters.)
This is a continuation of the "Live-Action Film Series" timeline.
This is a continuation of the "Aligned Continuity" timeline, and a feature-length conclusion to the "Transformers Prime" series.

This list outlines all of the official Transformers TV & movie releases that contribute to one of the several continuities in North America. Any series that are attributed exclusively to the Japanese Transformers timeline are excluded from this list (such as Masterforce, Car Robots/RID 2001, etc.)
