Top 10 Anime Villains

10. Hanzo Hattori- Brave 10

Hanzo Hattori is a ruthless, coldhearted ninja who seeks nothing but to use Isanami's hairpin to gain destructive power and rule the world from the shadows. He is the one responsible for the destruction of the Izumo shrine and the murder of the head priest. He is fast and skilled with dual wielding two wakizashi swords. He does hesitate to kill his enemies with even a single strike. That alone got him in my top favorites.

9. Queen Nehelenia- Sailor Moon

Queen Nehelenia is the queen of the kingdom of the Dead Moon. She was made in the mirror image of Queen Serenity. She is obsessed with remaining young and beautiful forever. She can give people nightmares, and can control waves of darkness. She is also impervious to most attacks. Because of this, Queen Nehelenia fit perfectly on my list.

8. Lord Nene- Blue Dragon

Nene is the head of Gran Kingdom, as well as an ancient from the past. He plans to rule the world by using the power of shadowielding, for he has found a way to create shadow power artificially, by using children for power cells. His pet, Deathroy, is always sitting on his shoulder and gives Nene the ability to wield his shadow, Chimera. Nene is a ruthless, vile, and cruel ruler, which is what put him on my list (as well as his cool shadow.)

7. Asura- Soul Eater

Asura is the master Kishin, as well as the first Kishin ever to exist. He was once a member of the Great Powerful Ones and the first son of Lord Death. He became obsessed in obtaining ultimate power, that he started to consume the souls of innocent humans and his own weapon partner as well, thus turning him into a Kishin. Asura believes that mankind's greatest weakness is their ability to imagine answers to questions that seem to only amount to a frightening answer, when in actuality, the answers are not very frightening at all, and that the only thing that makes them appear so terrifying is the human's imagination running away with them. As a strong believer in this concept of happiness, Asura has sacrificed his own imagination, leading to fearless recklessness. In other words, he thinks that mankind should surrender to Madness and be rid of pain and fear as he did. Due to this, Asura has found his right place on my top favorite anime villains.

6. Sugou Nobuyuki/Oberon- Sword Art Online

Sugou Nobuyuki is the former director of the research institute of RECTO Progress Inc. Fairy King Oberon is his avatar in Fairy Dance Art. He is a greedy and immoral entrepreneur, as he had kidnapped 300 players from SAO for his experiment on manipulating the human mind, which he was planning to sell to other companies. Sugou also has a habit of framing others for his problems, especially Kayaba since he felt that he was the source of all of his problems. Sugou also viewed himself as a god that could have anything he wanted, viewing other people as inferiors who tried to interfere with his actions, and often abused his GM status to flaunt his "god"-like status. Sugou also harmed many people, especially their feelings, and thought that they are helpless to do anything about it. He also has an extremely perverted side, especially towards Asuna, as he had sexually harassed or molested her on many occasions. To me, Sugou is one of the most evilest anime villains that I know of, but unfortunately he didn't make it to first. But still, he is so evil that I can't even find the right words to describe how evil he is. That is what truly got him in my top favorites.

5. Frieza- Dragon Ball Z

Frieza is a galactic emperor of an unnamed race who runs the planet trade and is feared for his ruthlessness and power. That although is not really that important about Frieza. I mean what can you say about a villain who was inspired by the unscrupulous financial speculators of the real world? Now that is scary. What's more is even describing Frieza due to all his different personas, but they have two things in common. Death and destruction. Even after Frieza says bye-bye, he pops back up as part of Cell, a creature form from the genes of the worst villains in the DBZ series making him unable to be killed. That's what got Frieza in my top 5's

3. Light Yagami- Death Note

Light may be the main character in Death Note, but the main villain as well. He is also not your typical villain nor high school kid, for he has been given a journal called known as the Death Note, which allows him to kill an person by simply writing down their name in the notebook. Unfortunately, he becomes obsessed with the power the Death Note more and more, killing criminal after criminal, eventually naming himself Kira, who he claims to be a new god who will create a new world that is rid of evil. He quotes, "I am justice!" meaning that he will cleanse the current world of all its evil people. With his friend Ryuk, a Shinigami who gave him the notebook, Light deserves to place third in my top favorite anime villains.

2. Sลsuke Aizen- Bleach

Aizen is the former captain of the 5th Division in the Gotei 13. Rather than bluster and yell, Aizen is usually quiet and soft spoken. He's the kind of person that will owe into security before treating you to an excruciating death. A master manipulator who can predict the moves of his enemies with infuriating precision, Aizen wants what so many villains want, total control. Thats why Aizen stands as my second favorite anime villain.

1. Naraku- Inuyasha

Leading up to my top favorite anime villain of all time is Naraku, a half-demon responsible for most of the characters' misfortunes, including the death of Kikyo, the sealing of Inuyasha to the sacred tree, Miroku's curse, and the death of Sango's family. Naraku's character shows that even half-demons are dangerous things to be reckoned with. Naraku is driven by three goals: To become a full demon, to possess a fully-corrupted Shikon Jewel, and to possess Kikyo. His evil powers, many forms, and his immortality has made him my number one favorite anime villain.
