My Favorite Anime

#1 "The Legend of Galactic Heroes" A masterpiece of storytelling and characters in this 110 epic a story is told about an Empire that is controlled by nobles who are keeping power to themselves and the Free Planet Alliance which is corrupt to the core. I love this shows characters story and themes so much.

#2 "Nana"
A fantastic cast of characters, my favorite drama. I love to make a goal to watch this show or read the manga once a year. I love the conflict that is brought up in this series.

#3 Neon Genesis Evangelion
A show that needs no introduction, Eva expresses characters with extreme mental issues that are not matched by any other. I love watching Shinji slowly descent into madness in this cruel world, with a great message of even if everything is tumbling, it is fine because in the end there will be peace.

#4 K-On
Kyo-ani's masterpiece of a group of girls enjoying school.

#5 Ghost in the Shell
Mamrou Oshii's version and Stand Alone Complex get their spot here. Both for different reasons. Oshii's for its dark atmosphere and focuses on what is human. Stand Alone Complex excels in storytelling and defining Major Kusanagi.

#6 Revolutionary Girl Utena
1 word: Car

# 7 Rose of Versailles
Oscar is my favorite female character. I love her sense of justice, her noble soul and her willingness to adapt to her changing world. This 70's anime is about the build-up to the French Revolution, with some creative liberties added and some great melodrama makes this a favorite of mine.

#8 Kill la Kill
A dumb over the top, an action show that keeps me hyped throughout the entire watch. Kill la kill is stupid and creative with its fight scenes.

#9 Irresponsible Captain Tylor
Tylor is the most consistently funny comedy I have seen an absurd comedy that parodies my favorite show Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Tylor also tells an interesting story of two nations fighting a war; which is a nice bonus to the great comedy and character writing.

#10 Aria the Animation
Aria is a beautiful show to relax. It is like going to a spa, for each episode it feels like a breath of fresh air. Aria is also benefited by a fantastic soundtrack to help the vibe of calmness.

Showa Genku Rakugo no Shinju
A modern classic that got me interested in the art of Rakugo. It follows the art form of Rakugo and how the artist get inspired to create their performance. A fantastic drama.

Hunter x Hunter
A great remake, with fantastic battles and great villains.
