This book is more about jazz than anything else, but when it comes to comprehensive books about the subject matter, this is the one to get despite some of its flaws.

Chord Chemistry - Ted Greene
One of the finest books about chord theory, for many professional musicians this book is like a bible and subject of constant studying. If you're serious about your guitar playing, then this little book is a must-own, and I mean seriously.

Complete Book of Harmony, Theory & Voicing for Guitar... - Bret Willmott
Willmott's book is something of an advanced version of Chord Chemistry, theory so far out most people won't even be able to read the whole thing. If you really are serious badass muthafuka and want to go over the top with your chordal harmonies, then this is one of the best and most brutal books ever written about the subject matter.

Complete Book of Harmonic Extensions for Guitar... - Bret Willmott
In case you made it to through the last one and desire for more, then get this sequel, it's even more badass and crazy, if that's even possible. The headmaster of Sibelius Academy will eat from your hand if you master everything.

A Chromatic Approach to Jazz Harmony and Melody... - David Liebman
Need more badass theory, do you? David Liebman's book introduces more chromatic approach to the thing. Now that you are the master of music, begins the creative bending of the rules and going insane. The theory of this book is as advanced as it gets, the complexity makes it impossible for most people to make anything out of it, but you're basically a musician on steroids now, so you can handle it with ease.

These are some great music related books I've found extremely useful in my studies, mostly music theory.
