New Wave of Japanese Splatter.

Hard Revenge, Milly & Hard Revenge, Milly: Bloody Battle. This one takes the cake primarily on superior action direction. The fight scenes are fantastic and the gore is on par especially in the second half.

This is one of the entries that seems to get shit on quite a bit but I happened to really enjoy it. Even though they probably should, none of the gags felt out of place and it's one of the few where I've liked every one of Nishimura's creations. It doesn't hurt that he borrows a few ideas from Sion Sono's films.

The movie that really made the style blow up and with good reason. An expert blend of goofiness and gore that never bores. Doesn't hurt that every girl in the movie is also the hottest girl in the movie.

The first half is a bit rough but the last hour is straight-up, balls-out, in-your-face action and it's some of the best work from Yoshihiro Nishimura and co.

I don't really understand the hate for this movie. It's a lot of fun and apart from some poor lighting, it's a nicely made movie to boot. Pure badass through and through.

Even though the effects, humor and ideas are all present, something bores me about this one.

Some really great slapstick humor here. Too bad the baseball parts were so underwhelming.

A lot of great, over-the-top ideas (which should be expected) that for some reason just don't add up.

Though it does get pretty crazy towards the end and the soundtrack is solid, "Zombie Ass" is just too juvenile, even on Iguchi standards.
