Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee - PlayStation
Genre: Platform
Company: GT Interactive Software
ESRB: T

Description: "Once you were just a slave laborer in a horrid meat-processing plant...Now you're next on the menu. In a lush world of diabolical danger where everyone wants to eat you, you're the skinny guy with no weapons. Run, jump, hide, scramble and talk your way past the ugliest bunch of carnivorous crustaceans ever created. Unlock Abe's special powers then figure out your foes, and your might save your race. Don't and you're dinner! Enter Oddworld's surreal, sensory overload of pure gaming and claim your destiny. Savior. Or Salami."
Playability: A fairly playable platformer, though several levels get quite complex.
Ease of Save: Saves to the beginning of the level you are on.
Other comments: One of my favorite of my original PS games, surprisingly complex for the platform, and definitely a lot of fun. This and Exoddus are pretty much equally playable, though the third was only available on X-Box, I believe.

And they'll stop at nothing to get them, for torturing the Mudokons is their preferred lifestyle! Once again, it's up to Abe to save his race, with just his loin-cloth, chants, and wits. Gauntlet Legends - PlayStation
Genre: RPG
Company: Midway
ESRB: T

Description: "Out of conflict, legends are born. Arm yourself and a friend for adrenaline-drenched action to combat evil forces! Use powerful sorcery, exotic power-ups and 'Items of Legend' to save the realm! Choose from the 4 classic characters, (Valkyrie, Warrior, Wizard, Archer) and unlock four hidden ones! Over 20 in-game quests with related cinematics! Save your characters for future battles or to take to a friend's house!"
Playability: Easily replayable, but repetative.
Ease of Save: Saves between levels.
Other comments: This version is all right, but you're limited to two players. The later PS2 Gauntlet Dark Legacy game has everything this game has with much more playability. If you only intend to get one, that is the one to choose.

Tomb Raider IV: The Last Revelation - PlayStation
Genre: Platform
Company: Eidos
ESRB: T

Description: "An Epic Egyptian Adventure! Laura embarks on a journey of discovery across Egypt, where she must overcome the most ingenious puzzles and infernal traps ever devised, and face terrifying evil from beyond the grave... With more twists and turns than an Egyptian labyrinth, this is heart stopping action-adventure; a Tomb Raider that truly offers... The Last Revelation."
Playability: I think for the right player, this could be fairly replayable, but I never got into it quite enough.
Ease of Save: Saves between levels.
Other comments: While I like the idea of this, I never really got into this series, and really, I tried to too late.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - PlayStation
Genre: RPG
Company: EA Games
ESRB: E

Description: "Hogwarts Term Begins... Be Harry Potter in a magical adventure filled with wizardry, fun, and danger."
Playability: I wasn't impressed with the game play in this one. The redone PC version is much better.
Ease of Save: Save-points throughout the game.
Other comments: I played this through the first few levels, but then I hit potions class, and was unable to get past a certain puzzle due to the difficulty level of the puzzle. If you play this one, I highly recommend the newer version of the PC game, which removed said puzzle.
