THE TWINS OF EVIL.
Cuts to Luan Peters with Count Karnstein in wooden hut at beginning; slight trims to black mass scene.
VAMPIRE CIRCUS.
Opening whipping toned down; a dagger in the face from opening fight deleted; second close-up of burnt face removed; cuts to Panther attack on family in woods and subsequent discovery of corpses by Lynne Frederick. (NB: the examiners originally demanded substantive cuts to this but Hammer seemed to have got Stephen Murphy to overrule his staff on most of them).
The BBFC examiners originally required heavy cuts to the film but many of these were successfully waived after Hammer consulted BBFC head Stephen Murphy. Among the original cuts were edits to the opening whipping, closeups of Hauser's burnt face, the panther attack, and shots of the mutilated bodies discovered by Dora in the forest. Some of these were made and some were reduced, leaving the overall status of the film somewhat ambiguous. Video versions featured the cinema print though the 2002 Carlton DVD runs slightly longer and contains all surviving footage. (IMDB)

THE STRANGLERS OF BOMBAY
Cut. Missing the controversial sadistic reactions to the stranglings from Marie Devereaux, which caused a sensation in reviews at the time. The actual male violence that she is reacting to is kept in.
The British video copy in 1994 was first to make these cuts. The original British release featured these shots intact, and the British Film Institute possesses an uncut copy.
THE TERROR OF THE TONGS
cut.
DVD Compare:
The following cuts have been made:
- removal of shots of Helena's hand being held down by Tong men on a table and of her reactions as her fingers are stuck by the axe.
- considerable reduction in the torturing of Sale: in particular removal of all shots of the needles in contact with his flesh.
- removal of a shot of torturer lying on the ground with axe in his body and blood all around it.
- removal of a close shot of man's bloody body after it has been repeatedly stabbed and of shots of his mutilated hand.
It has been confirmed that the "shot of first officer's mutilated hand", mentioned on the BBFC web site, has been restored on this edition.

Vampire Lovers (1970)
Restored R1 version only missing part of opening decapitation shot (also a BBFC trim). Other footage requested to be cut by BBFC is present on DVD. (NB: the previous cut print in circulation was an American source since the Ingrid Pitt decapitation was never cut by the BBFC)
