Reasons for Prediction: David O. Russell directing after a seven-year break, which was after four Oscar-loved movies released from 2010 - 2015. The cast looks awesome and filled with Oscar-loved actors. Also cinematography is from Emmanuel Lubezki.
Nomination Update: Zero Nominations
Reasons for Prediction: Damien Chazelle is directing, cast is Oscar-friendly, and it's about Hollywood history, shoe-in... as long as it's good.
Nomination Update: Three nominations; NO Best Picture nomination.
Reasons for Prediction: Ińarritu's first film since "Revenant". That's really all I need for this prediction.
Nomination Update: One Nomination; NO Best Picture nomination.
Reasons for Prediction: Sam Mendes directing, it's a movie-lover type of film, Academy is full of movie-lovers. Cast is loved by them as well.
Nomination Update: One Nomination; NO Best Picture Nomination.
Reasons for Prediction: Spielberg directing a pseudo-autobiography. Seems like a no-brainer.
Nomination Update: Seven Nominations; Nominated for Best Picture!
Reasons for Prediction: A women-powered film with a strong cast and about true events and investigation into Hollywood-related things. Perhaps the next "Spotlight"?
Nomination Update: Zero Nominations
Reasons for Prediction: Cate Blanchett starrer, not always a sure-thing, but add in an Oscar-loving director like Todd Field returning after a very long hiatus... seems like a strong bet.
Nomination Update: Six Nominations; Nominated for Best Picture!
Reasons for Prediction: Ron Howard, true events, Viggo, and loved so far. Just might not have the huge popularity needed.
Nomination Update: Zero Nominations - Unreal!
Reasons for Prediction: A historic drama about civil rights in the US and story that has needed to be told for a long time now.
Nomination Update: Zero Nominations
Reasons for Prediction: I feel like the Academy really wants to give Sarah Polley some love. Woman-powered, and it's from the Oscar-loving producers of Best-Picture winners, "Moonlight" and "Nomadland". They'll push for another win.
Nomination Update: Two Nominations; Nominated for Best Picture!
