In Casshan, it's about humans vs robots and fighting for a world that can coexist with them.
The parallels are more in the X and Zero series.
But in Classic, they took Friender and turned him into a Dog named Rush.
Also in Mega Man 2, there's literally an enemy called Friender. You can't make this stuff up.
